Does USPS leave packages at your door?
Yes they will, unless the package requires that someone sign for it.
If a signature is required for a package, USPS will leave you a notice and will re deliver the next day for someone to sign for it.
Other wise, they simply just leave the package in your mail box or at the door..
Does USPS go to mailbox or door?
The Postal Service provides three modes of delivery for existing delivery points — to the door, to a mailbox on the curb, and to a centralized point that serves several addresses.
What does USPS do if package doesn’t fit in mailbox?
If it won’t fit in the mailbox it is at the carriers discretion on whether to leave it at the house on the porch or other secure area. If it requires signature they won’t leave it… Unlike UPS and FedEx who make 3 delivery attempts the Post Office will only make one and then leave a notice if they can’t deliver.
Is UPS supposed to leave packages at the door?
Shipments that do not require a signature can be left in a safe place, out of sight and out of weather, at the driver’s discretion. This could include the front porch, side door, back porch, garage area, or with a neighbor or leasing office (which would be noted in a yellow UPS InfoNotice® left by the driver).
Can you tell USPS where to leave a package?
That’s because instead of receiving the package in person, customers with www.usps.com accounts can ask their USPS ® carriers to leave the package at a different domestic address on the same carrier route for free, or at an address outside the carrier route for the cost of postage.
How late will USPS deliver packages?
The volume of mail fluctuates daily; therefore, delivery times are not guaranteed. All deliveries should be made by 5:00 p.m. local time Monday through Saturday.
