Is the Field Museum worth it?
The museum is large and the small per item charge is well worth the cost. The best plan of attack is to decide what you really want to see. In my family we each chose our number one “must see”; everything else just happens as we come across it.
Does Shedd Aquarium have coat check?
Even better than a coat check: lockers. Just three quarters will get you a locker for the day, and they’re plenty big for two winter coats and a tote bag. As for snacks, while there are some exhibits that forbid food (due to open water), other exhibits allow food and drink.
